Humanities + Programs
The humanities are concerned with what it means to be human in the broadest sense. Traditionally, this has meant study in languages, literature, art, history, philosophy, and religion. The Humanities+ designation, therefore, refers to interdisciplinary programs that are rooted in the humanities, yet build bridges that connect the humanities with the social, physical, and biological sciences.
In the College of Arts & Sciences, there are four interdisciplinary Humanities+ programs that offer majors and/or minors that undergraduate students may pursue. Each of these programs is led by a very capable director and supported by a vibrant cohort of faculty with research and teaching interests relevant to their program.
